“Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

At the Journey, kids are on an expedition along Route 226 to see God for who He is and to see themselves the way God sees them. While traveling along Route 226, children will map out how they fit into God’s plan and apply that plan directly to their lives at home, at school, or wherever they travel. Journey’s Route 226 ministry has a different street for each age group.

The Way –Infants & Toddlers (through age 3)

Since infants and toddlers are just getting started on their journey with God, our longing is to incite wonder in them about who God is. Children in this age group will participate in an age appropriate curriculum, which is not only fun, but that also gets them started on their way to knowing God.

The Beeline – Pre K & Kindergarten
12th Avenue – 1st & 2nd grade
34th Street – 3rd & 4th grade

The goal for elementary aged children journeying with us is to provoke discovery in God. Just as Jesus “grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52), we desire for elementary aged children to grow in wisdom, faith and friendship by learning how to make wise choices, trusting God no matter what, and treating others the way they want to be treated. To accomplish this, we teach the Bible in a relevant and creative way that uses large group activities, such as engaging skits, upbeat music, and real-life stories, as well as small group activities and discussion.

The Passage – 5th & 6th grade

Designed with 5th and 6th graders in mind, the aim of the Passage is to transition these students to our Middle & High School ministry called the Refuge. By participating in the Passage, students will begin to see what they can do for God by studying the people of the Bible and exploring what they did for God. 5th and 6th graders will leave each Sunday with an action point of what they can do for God.
