Biblical Values
Jesus Christ
“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ – the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.” Philippians 3:7-9
Meaningful ministry can only be found where Jesus is the absolute center.
Prayer
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35
Jesus was directed through a vital connection with His heavenly Father through prayer. We desire this same relationship for each faith journeyer.
Truth
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The Bible is our guide and standard for truth, life, and what it means to follow Jesus.
Spirit Empowered
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
We recognize that the Holy Spirit leads, guides, and empowers each person to be a vital witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This witness starts locally but ultimately reaches to the far parts of the world.
Gift-based Service
“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.” Romans 12:4-8
We value each person cheerfully serving Christ body according to spiritual giftedness and passion.
Invest/Invite Oriented
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’” Matthew 9:36-38
The harvest is plentiful. It is the workers that are few. For each Journey partner our prayer is that “Each one, reach one, each year.”
Relevant
"I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 22b-23
We are committed to bringing the gospel to our community in a way that they can understand.
